We believe that every Word in the Bible is inspired by God, and therefore the whole Bible is the true and unaltered Word of God, clearly teaching the way of salvation (2 Timothy 3:15-17)
We believe that God is one (Deuteronomy 6:4) and that He has revealed Himself in Three distinct Persons (Matthew 3:13-17). The Father, our creator and preserver; The Son, Jesus, who is both God and man, and our only Saviour; the Holy Spirit, who creates faith in our hearts and enables us to live a God-pleasing life.
We believe that God created man with body and soul, in His image, but man of his own free will lost that image through sin (Gen. 1-3).
We believe that Sin is the breaking of the Law (1 John 3:4). There are two kinds of sin: original or inherited sin (Psalm 51:5); and actual sin – a sin of thought, word, or action (Matthew 5:19). Further, man is subject to death and eternal damnation because of both kinds of sin.
We believe that God out of pure love and mercy, redeemed mankind from sin through the sacrifice of His only Son, Jesus Christ, upon the cross. The resurrection of Jesus shows us that God was satisfied with the work of Jesus (John 3:16-18; 1 John 2:2; Romans 4:25).
We believe that the sinner must personally accept , through faith, the merits of Jesus for salvation and sincerely trust that “Jesus died for me!” (John 17:3; James 1:21; Psalm 31:14) HOWEVER, this faith is NOT a decision of man, but a gift of God through the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 3:24).
We believe that the Church, established by Christ, is the whole number of believers in Christ. Jesus is its one and only foundation (Ephesians 2:19-22). The Church is found wherever the Gospel of Jesus Christ is preached and the Sacraments are administered.
We believe that Jesus instituted two Sacraments: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. When Baptism is administered to infants and adults according to the command of Christ, God offers His grace and Forgiveness of sins (Acts 22:16). In the Lord’s Supper, those who receive the bread and wine also receive the Body and Blood of Jesus Himself. This Body and Blood are given for the forgiveness of sins for all who believe (1 Corinthians 11:24-25). Since the Lord’s Supper also testifies to the unity of faith among believers it is normally administered only to those who share the same faith through public profession [church membership] (1 Corinthians 10:17).
We believe that Christ will return visibly to the earth (Acts 1:11) on the Last Day (Mark 13:22) to judge the world (Acts 10:42). All believers will go to heaven to be with God forever (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 ). Unbelievers will go to hell, eternally separated from God (Matthew 25:32-46).
We believe that on the Last Day believers in Christ will rise from the dead, their souls reunited with their earthly bodies, now glorified by Christ (John 14:19; 17:24).
